In short: Marmaris is a seaside town in south-west Türkiye (Muğla province), between green mountains and a bay lined with wooden boats. Its best days are boat trips between the coves and swimming in calm water, with day trips to Cleopatra Island and Dalyan. It suits a family summer holiday of 4 to 7 nights.
Getting there
The nearest airport is Dalaman, about 90–100 km from Marmaris (around an hour and a half by car). We arrange the airport pickup to your hotel.
What to do
- Boat trip between the coves: a day at sea on a wooden boat, with swim stops and lunch on board.
- Promenade and marina: evening walks among seafront restaurants and cafés.
- Cleopatra Island (Sedir Island): about 25 km from Marmaris, reached by boat. Its sand is protected: no shoes or towels on the beach, and no taking sand.
- Dalyan: a day trip by river boat to the mud and sulphur baths on Lake Köyceğiz and to long İztuzu beach, one of the Mediterranean's most important sea-turtle nesting beaches; parts close during nesting season (roughly May to September).
When to go
- June–September: the sea season, and the busiest months.
- Spring and autumn: calmer and better for exploring.

- Marmaris is a resort town with visitors from many countries. For conservative families we suggest quiet family resorts, arranged to your request.
- Dalyan's mud is rich in sulphur; avoid it with open wounds or skin conditions.
